Each session consists of an educational program followed by a support group.
Attendees are welcome to participate in any programs that fit your schedule. Free
respite care is available onsite in Home Instead’s dementia day program, Friends Club.

Building Foundations of Caregiving

Friday, March 20, 2-4 pm

Explores the role of caregiver and changes they may experience, building a support team and managing caregiver stress.

Supporting Independence

Friday, March 27, 2-4 pm

Focuses on helping the person living with dementia take part in daily activities, and balancing safety and independence while managing expectations.

Communicating Effectively

Friday, April 3, 2-4 pm

Teaches how dementia affects communication, including tips for communicating well with family, friends and health care professionals.

Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors

Friday, April 10, 2-4 pm

Details common behavior changes and how they are a form of communication, non-medical approaches to behaviors and recognizing when additional help is needed.

Exploring Care and Support Services

Friday, April 24, 2-4 pm

Examines how best to prepare for future care decisions and changes, including respite care, residential care, and end-of life care.

Donna has been supporting seniors and their families in the Berkshires as the owner and director of Home Instead for the last 25 years. She regularly provides public education and periodic support groups to help family caregivers navigate caregiving and manage stress.
